Adaptieve thermogenese bestaat echt: het energieverbruik daalt iets meer dan de verandering in lichaamssamenstelling zou voorspellen, en de follow-up van Biggest Loser documenteerde dat dit jarenlang aanhield. [1]
Waarom de claim blijft bestaan
Het vertraagt het gewichtsverlies; het stopt of keert het niet om. Een plateau bij een werkelijk energietekort is bijna altijd het gevolg van onderrapportage van de inname, niet van een stilvallend metabolisme.
