Adaptiivinen termogeneesi on todellinen ilmiö: energiankulutus laskee jonkin verran enemmän kuin kehon koostumuksen muutos ennustaisi, ja Biggest Loser -seurantatutkimus osoitti ilmiön jatkuvan vuosia. [1]
Miksi väite säilyy
Se hidastaa laihtumista, mutta ei pysäytä tai käännä sitä. Painonpudotuksen pysähtyminen todellisen kalorivajeen aikana johtuu käytännössä aina aliraportoidusta syömisestä, ei aineenvaihdunnan pysähtymisestä.
